Everton vs Burnley – (Monday 3.00pm)

Enthralling clash in prospect here between Everton & Burnley sides managed by two of the brightest managerial talent around & certainly this game could well be a cracker for us to enjoy.
David Moyes is certainly very frustrated & indeed disappointed with how Everton have performed this season but the signs are there that they are returning to something approaching their best form.

Indeed, Everton do need to keep improving & encouragingly they have shown much more belief, determination & indeed more quality in their recent games with 4 successive draws in the Premier League.

A key feature of 3 of those draws has been the determination Everton have shown to come from behind & certainly that determination & belief is what makes Everton strong & makes them hard to play against.

David Moyes will be fully determined & committed to kicking Everton on from here & a big factor of that has to be to greatly improve their unusually poor home form so this game against a Burnley side with a terrible away record is an excellent opportunity to do just that.

Owen Coyle & his Burnley players are easy to assess because they no matter what the game is & who they are playing, they remain committed to the same beliefs of being positive & aim to win every single match and that is something that deserves praise even though it plays a part in their failings.

There is no secret to how Burnley set up tactically & we fully expect Burnley to travel to Everton fully committed to playing positive, attacking football & that obviously gives them a chance of getting a result but equally makes them vulnerable at the same time.

Burnley have achieved only 1 point from a possible 27 away from home with 8 defeats already & clearly that terrible record is a massive concern for them going into this game but again that won’t change how they play.

This should be a decent game because both sides will aim to win but home advantage looks likely to be the deciding factor here with Everton determined to win & especially considering Burnley’s terrible away record so an Everton home win is the bet that appeals to us.

Wolves vs Manchester City – (Monday 5.30pm)

The Manchester City circus now led by Roberto Mancini moves onto Wolves here & this game has got the makings of being a very interesting & indeed entertaining game for everybody to enjoy.
Wolves need the points in the fight against relegation & Manchester City need the points in the quest for Champions League football so there is absolutely everything to play for & every reason to believe positive football will prevail.

With 3 wins in their last 5 league games, Wolves have nearly doubled their points total & given their chances of survival a massive boost because it had begun to look really desperate for Mick McCarthy and his team.

Wolves were struggling for form, confidence & any kind of result but the wins over Bolton, Tottenham & Burnley have given everybody at Wolves a massive lift just when they needed it.

Admittedly Wolves have been comfortably beaten by Manchester United & Liverpool during that 5 game spell but that won’t concern Mick McCarthy too much & he will know that this home match in another opportunity to gain points.

Wolves have won their last 2 home league matches so that should give them the confidence to be positive here & they did play very well to only lose 1-0 away at Manchester City earlier this season so there is scope for them to get a positive result.

Mark Hughes lost his job for many reasons & some of those were not based on football but undoubtedly a big reason was the fact Manchester City could not develop a run of consistent winning form.

A disappointing pattern of excellent wins followed by defeats & draws ultimately cost Mark Hughes his job & clearly Roberto Mancini has to start making Manchester City consistently win matches.

Mancini got off to the perfect start with a comfortable 2-0 win against Stoke City & he knows that within his squad he so much attacking ability that he can go to Wolves with the intention of winning the game.

What will be vital for Manchester City in this fixture is how they cope defensively & the clean sheet against Stoke City showed that Manchester City can excel defensively as well as offensively.

We are expecting this to be a decent game of football & it should be an open, flowing game which should give Manchester City an excellent opportunity to achieve a vital away win & they do indeed look a solid bet to show their class & take the points.

Aston Villa vs Liverpool – (Tuesday 7.45pm)

Aston Villa were involved in a massive clash against Arsenal on sunday & they come straight back into action here to face Liverpool in what looks like being another tremendously competitive affair.
Martin O’Neill has high hopes for Aston Villa this season & their excellent form has taken them into deserved contention for a top four finish come the end of the season & this is a massive match coming against their rivals for that slot.

Every match will be important from here on in but Liverpool at home is massive for Aston Villa & especially coming on the back of losing 3-0 at Arsenal so how the Aston Villa players respond to that will be the key to this match.

Martin O’Neill will want to erase that defeat from their minds straight away & this massively important match against Liverpool gives them the perfect opportunity to do just that & the players will certainly be fully motivated for this one.

Aston Villa beat Liverpool away at the beginning of the season & they will view this as a fantastic opportunity to show they have the necessary requirements to compete with the top sides & Aston Villa certainly do have the players to do it on their best form.

Aston Villa have been very solid at home & certainly they know with the likes of Carew, Heskey, Ashley Young, Agbonlohar & Milner, they have the attacking quality, power & pace to cause the Liverpool defence problems so we do expect a really positive Villa performance here.

Liverpool have the same end of season target as Aston Villa with a top 4 finish & a a subsequent Champions League place their holy grail for the remainder of this season so this is clearly a massive fixture that they cannot afford to lose.

A 2-0 home win over Wolves should give the Liverpool players more confidence & the belief to be positive but they will be cautious of the threat Aston Villa pose & they will have to be on their best form to get a result here.

Tactically we expect Rafa Benitez to be cautious with defensive solidity & team organisation his preferred style & with another defeat unthinkable for Liverpool, a safety first policy looks the most likely approach from Liverpool here.

This is massively important fixture with great pressures attached as both Aston Villa & Liverpool know they need to win but also cannot afford to lose and in our mind that could well lead to both teams cancelling each other out & a scoring draw looks a good value betting option here.

NARATIVE:

Hang on to your hats Villa fans, as I can report that fourteen years have lapsed since the home team led at half time, the only occasion that the scenario has been in place during the entire history of the Premiership. Thankfully (from a Villa perspective) the hosts snared all three points but then again Liverpool secured nine of the twelve available points when the visitors led at the interval. Villa failed to find the net on eight occasions having scored just three goals in the last ten matches. Liverpool have scored only six goals in the last seven games (poor by Liverpool standards) but those goals were enough to secure fifteen of the available twenty one points. Manchester United vs Wigan Athletic – (Wednesday 8.00pm)

This is the point of the season from which Manchester United have always proven to kick on by building consistency in performances & winning momentum and what better way to start that than against a Wigan side whom they have a 100% record against in the Premier League.
There have been 9 previous matches in the Premier League between Manchester United & Wigan and Manchester United have won every single one with the most recent victory over Wigan coming early in the season when it was 5-0 away at Wigan.

Now we don’t want it to sound like that this game only concerns Manchester United & of course Wigan need the 3 points on offer as much as Manchester United do but statistics & historical records like that do matter & do influence results.

Records are there to be broken & Wigan proved that by beating Chelsea earlier in the season but there can be no doubting the psychological impact that playing Manchester United has on the Wigan players & that usually leads to a below par performance & with it a comfortable victory for United.

Roberto Martinez is a positive manager & believes in playing positive football so Wigan will have a go but that will suit Manchester United’s attacking style perfectly & all the signs are there for Manchester United to go for another win here.

Manchester United bounced back after their shocking defeat against Fulham by convincingly beating Hull City 3-1 & that should give them the boost they need to go all out again for the win here.

As we say, records are there to be broken & Wigan will eventually beat Manchester United in a Premier League match but we cannot see that happening here & Manchester United look a really solid bet to maintain their 100% record over Wigan with Wayne Rooney highly likely to be the inspiration again.

Betting Recommendations:

Outright Match Betting: Manchester United to win

First goalscorer each way/Player to score anytime: Valencia/Rooney/Berbatov
