Terry offers no excuses for shambolic England performance
John Terry admits England just weren’t good enough after a woeful display in Bloemfontein saw them end a frankly disappointing campaign with their heaviest World Cup defeat, going down to Germany 4-1. Frank Lampard’s goal that wasn’t would have grabbed all the headlines but in fairness England were just far inferior to their younger opposition. The defending was abject, with mistakes you wouldn’t expect to see on a Sunday league pitch, whilst once again Wayne Rooney disappointed as he continued his barren run of 8 World Cup matches and no goals.
