Stoke City vs Hull City – (Saturday 3.00pm)

Timing plays a big part in football & if this match between Stoke City & Hull City had taken place a few weeks ago we would have gone 100% for a Stoke City win but it now looks a tough game to call.
Stoke City have had another fantastic season in already achieving Premier League survival & mid table security so in many ways their targets have been reached & the pressure to get results is now much lower.

In saying that, Tony Pulis & his staff at Stoke City are all incredibly proud, professional men who are determined to make sure Stoke City finish the season as strongly as possible & especially in front of their own fans so we do expect a strong Stoke City performance here.

Stoke City are involved in the mix for 10th place with Fulham & Blackburn Rovers so they are looking for all the points they can get & their home form is strong but not having won at home in the league since february must be a point of concern here.

Despite not having won at home in the league since february, Stoke City are notoriously tough to beat at home & we see them being really tough & solid again here as they look to test Hull City in every department.

Hull City’s need for league points is so much greater than Stoke City as they desperately fight to avoid what would be a catastrophic relegation back to the Championship.

Ian Dowie is the manager who has been tasked with galvanising the Hull City squad to win their fight against relegation & he would have been tremendously delighted with the performance in beating Fulham 2-0 at home last weekend.

That win over Fulham was truly massive and those 3 points have given everybody at Hull City a massive boost & much needed belief that they can survive so we do expect them to be positive here.

The big negative for Hull City is the fact their away form is so terrible & it looks incredibly tough to envisage Hull City winning this but they definitely have enough about them to get a positive result from this match.

The Britannia Stadium will be rocking again & Stoke City are hard to oppose at home usually but Hull City have the greater need for points & we feel they can show enough fight & compete enough to earn a point and a scoring draw looks a bet worth taking.

Hull City vs Fulham – (Saturday 3.00pm)

This is a must win game for Hull City & it is as simple as that – Hull City have got to win this if they are to have any chance of surviving & that has to be the focus of this match although we’re sure Fulham will want to have their say as well.
Hull City have 4 home league matches remaining & those home matches must be turned into wins if Hull City are to survive so Ian Dowie will really have to get the players up for this one.

The 3-2 defeat away at Portsmouth after being in front was a massive blow to Hull City & that is bound to have hit the players hard so they will have to regain their confidence & quickly for this one but at least their home record gives them hope they can do that.

Hull City have been relatively strong at home with 5 wins & 5 draws & they are taking on a Fulham side with a pathetic away record of only 1 win in 15 so this is definitely a great opportunity for Hull City & they must take it.

Roy Hodgson has done wonders with Fulham again this season with their heroics in europe the highlight but the one point of concern that remains for Fulham is their terrible away form.

Admittedly Fulham have achieved 6 draws away from home but one victory is not good enough & that is mainly due to their failure to score enough goals away from home with only 11 scored in 15 away matches so far.

Fulham are totally safe in the Premier League for another season & now out of the F.A. Cup so the only real focus they have is the Europa Cup so whether the Fulham players will be fully motivated for this match must be doubtful & a draw looks their best possible outcome here.

This match is unlikely to be a footballing classic but that won’t matter to Ian Dowie, the Hull City fans & importantly the Hull City players who have to win this game & while this is not a straightforward game to call, we are taking Hull City to make home advantage pay & get 3 massive points.

Portsmouth vs Hull City – (Saturday 3.00pm)

Portsmouth are already relegated & in theory have nothing but pride to play for while Hull City are desperate for points & literally everything to play for but that does not make it any easier to evaluate how this game will go.
Portsmouth players & fans have known their fate of relegation virtually since they lost their first 7 league games but to their great credit they have continued to show great spirit & determination in all of their games this season.

Obviously they are bottom because they have been poor in terms of achieving results & not had anywhere near enough quality to survive but their whole situation of desperation has definitely seemed to unite everybody & that makes them hard to play against.

Avram Grant wants the Portsmouth players to go down fighting & particularly at home so we are expecting Portsmouth to be really up for this & they will know that Hull City will come with the same positivity so that should open up the game.

The Portsmouth fans have been terrific throughout all the problems this season & they will certainly generate a great atmosphere for this one & so we are expecting Portsmouth to have a real go here.

The absolutely pathetic form of Hull City over the last year has finally cost Phil Brown his job & it is Ian Dowie who has been tasked with 9 games to save Hull City from what would be an incredibly disastrous relegation for them.

The financial situation at Hull City would become so much worse if they are relegated & so this is now about a 9 match season for Hull City & they somehow have to probably get around 12-14 points from the 27 avaialble to give themselves any chance of survival.

That is clearly a massively demanding target & for a side that has only won 6 league matches all season & none away from home looks an incredibly daunting & to be honest unlikely scenario.

Ian Dowie’s appointment is all about making an immediate, positive impact on the players & the Hull City players are certain to show determination & a willingness to impress the new manager but Ian Dowie cannot improve the poor quality within the side & that is the biggest problem.

Hull City come into this match with an away record of 4 draws & 11 defeats from 15 away matches & an incredible 39 goals conceded during those matches so to expect Hull City to respond by winning this match looks to be asking too much.

It is a tough game to call as both sides will show commitment & determination to get a result & given the poor quality within each side it is tough to recommend either side winning & the best value appears to lie in backing a low scoring draw in this one.

Betting Recommendations:

Outright Match Result: DRAW

Correct Score options: 1-1

First Goalscorer each way/Players to score anytime: Piquionne/O’Hara/Bullard

Scorecast options: Piquionne/O’Hara/Bullard score 1st & 1-1 draw

Hull City vs Arsenal – (Saturday 5.30pm)

How must be Phil Brown & the Hull City players being feeling going into this match against Arsenal?

A very heavy, humiliating 5-1 defeat away at Everton is what Hull City have to respond to yet they face an Arsenal side who just destroyed FC Porto 5-0 in the Champions League.

Now facing Arsenal in that kind of form is a worrying prospect for most sides in world football let alone a Hull City side who have already conceded 59 league goals this season & sit 2nd bottom of league demoralised & devoid of confidence.

Phil Brown knows that Hull City’s slim chances of staying in the Premier League rely completely on their home form & somehow he has got to instil belief & confidence into the Hull City players again.

Hull City were ripped apart by Everton & Phil Brown must be greatly concerned that Arsenal will do the same & worryingly there looks to be very little that he can do to stop it happening.

Phil Brown will set Hull City up to be physically competitive, get stuck into Arsenal & try their very best to deny Arsenal the opportunity to play their football but whether they can actually do that is doubtful to say the least.

Hull City simply cannot rely on trying to be defensively tight & solid so they have to be positive in their home matches if they are to have any chance of getting results but equally that will set this game up for Arsenal’s fluent attacking football and clearly Hull City face massive problems here.

Arsene Wenger probably cannot believe that Arsenal are still in the race to win the Premier League after being convincingly destroyed twice by both Chelsea & Manchester United but they definitely are & now intent on doing their best to achieve that.

Arsenal were very impressive in beating FC Porto 5-0 & they will travel to Hull City absolutely bang full of confidence determined to produce a similar performance against Hull.

The fluency in Arsenal’s passing football is their major strength & they will see this match against a defensively fragile Hull City side as the perfect opportunity to show what they can do.

Arshavin, Walcott, Rosicky, Nasri, Eduardo & Bendtner have got great combinations of pace, skills, goalscoring ability which will destroy Hull City if they are allowed to play & there is also a chance that Cesc Fabregas will return to add his brilliance as well & it all looks rather daunting for Hull City.

This is a massive game for Hull City & Phil Brown will have them pumped up but we just cannot see how they will be able to cope with Arsenal here & Arsenal look well worth a bet to show their quality & get the goals to keep their title push going.

Betting Recommendations:

Outright Match Result: Arsenal to win

Correct Score options: Arsenal to win 3-1/4-1

First Goalscorer each way/Player to score anytime: Arshavin/Bendtner/Nasri

Scorecast options: Arshavin/Bendtner/Nasri score 1st & Arsenal win 3-1/4-1

Everton vs Hull City – (Sunday 4.00pm)

Everton come into this home match having won their 4 previous home matches against Man City, Sunderland, Chelsea & Manchester United so what price Everton make it 5 home league wins on the trot here against Hull City?

Well the answer is Everton are around the 4/11 mark to get that 5th successive win at home in the Premier League & avenge their nightmare 3-2 defeat against Hull City earlier in the season.

That night back in November was a complete nightmare for Everton as Hull City absolutely went for it & totally deserved to be 3-0 up after only 28 minutes before Everton showed spirit to reduce the score to 3-2 in the end.

That defeat by Hull City will be what David Moyes uses to get the Everton squad up for this game & he will demand that they keep playing as well as they have done in their victories over Man City, Chelsea & Manchester United.

The good thing for David Moyes is that despite defeats in their last two matches, Everton are a much stronger, better organised unit & in much stronger form now the last time they played Hull City & that should give the Everton players the confidence to really go for this.

David Moyes will look for an immediate, positive response from his Everton players after their defeat at Tottenham & we are expecting another quality, high energy performance from Everton here.

Hull City come into this match sitting in the bottom three, under massive pressure & knowing that every single point is vital from here on in so we do expect Hull City to come here positive & committed.

Phil Brown is under massive pressure to keep Hull City in the Premier League because their financial situation is desperate & relegation would be a real hammer blow to the club so Hull City have to fight for absolutely everything now.

The good news for Phil Brown is that is players have showed they can fight & although their last two defeats against Blackburn & West Ham were disappointing, their three previous results in drawing with Chelsea & Wolves and beating Man City prove that they can compete to get results.

The one major negative for Phil Brown is that all of Hull City’s best performances have come at home & their away form has been terrible with not a single away win to their name & only 4 draws from 14 away matches with a feable return of only 7 goals.

This is going to be competitive & it is likely to be physical as both Everton & Hull City strive to bounce back but in terms of the result we cannot look beyond Everton winning this as they look a solid bet to make home advantage & their extra quality count here.
