Chelsea vs Wigan – (Sunday 4.00pm)

Chelsea will win this game & with it the Premier League title. Clearly that is a very direct statement but exactly how we feel because it seems incredulous to believe that Chelsea will fail to beat Wigan at home & blow the chance to win the Premier League title.
1/12 is the general price for Chelsea to win while you can get 28/1 on Wigan and those odds do indicate the relative chances of each team & the outcome of this match.

Yes the pressure is on Chelsea to perform & win the game and yes Chelsea have to ensure they don’t disrespect Wigan & must maintain their professionalism & focus for this match but any other result than a comfortable win for Chelsea will be a truly massive shock.

Chelsea have been the best side in the Premier League with a phenomenal home record of 16 wins & 1 draw from 18 & they look absolutely nailed on to win this comfortably & bring the Premier League title back to Stamford Bridge.

Wigan vs Hull City – (Monday 1.30pm)

Let’s be honest, a few ago this fixture looked like being a relegation winner takes all type battle but Wigan are now safe & Hull City are down so this really is a meaningless, low profile game that even the hardcore fans from both sides will find hard to get motivated for.
That is not being unfair to either side but just completely honest, there is nothing at stake & the chances this match will just be a complete non-event.

Hopefully the players of both sides show pride & commitment to give their fans some kind of payback for what has been a terrible season for both sides but we are not holding our breath on that happening.

Wigan produced an incredible last 10 minutes in their last home game & at least showed a level of quality & fight at West Ham to give their fans something so they definitely have the edge coming into this match against a Hull City side who really don’t deserve anything other than relegation, however harsh that sounds it is true.

There is unlikely to be too much interest in this match & certainly we are not expecting a footballing classic but what we are expecting is Wigan to finish their season at home on a high & they look worth a punt to inflict yet another defeat on Hull City.

Wigan have scored just the one goal in the last three matches whilst their second half performances against the Gunners sum up their matches against the

Wigan vs Arsenal – (Sunday 1.30pm)

Arsenal 8, Wigan 0 & 1 Draw is the record so far in Premier League clashes between Wigan & Arsenal so more misery looks forthcoming for the Wigan players & fans here unless a major shock happens.

Wigan do need more points to guarantee their safety against relegation while Arsenal still hold a theoretical chance of the title & want to finish strong so both teams should be up for this one & passing football should be the order of the day too.

Both Roberto Martinez & Arsene Wenger believe in their sides playing positive, passing football and while Arsenal’s football is more potent & substantially more successful than Wigan’s, the fact both sides believe in positive, passing football should make this an open match well worth watching.

Wigan were disappointing held 0-0 at home by Portsmouth in midweek & are generally struggling for form and clearly confidence within the Wigan squad is low so they will not be looking forward to taking on Arsenal in this one.

Wigan’s home form has been inconsistent just like the rest on their season and their victories over Liverpool & Chelsea give them some sort of hope but they are also just as likely to lose heavily & the latter option seems more likely given their current form.

Arsenal have experienced an incredibly painful & disappointing last 10 days with crushing defeats against Barcelona in the Champions League & then against fierce rivals Tottenham in the Premier League & and another trophy-less season awaits.

The Premier League title now looks completely beyond Arsenal & so all that remains for Arsenal is to finish the season as strongly as possible starting with a good win against Wigan.

Both sides are struggling for form & confidence but the open nature of the game means Wigan & Arsenal should put on a decent show but in terms of quality then it really is no contest & Arsenal should have too much class for Wigan and they look a really solid bet to get the away win.

Betting Recommendations:

Outright Match Result: Arsenal to win

Correct Score options: Arsenal to win 2-0/3-0

First Goalscorer each way/Player to score anytime: Bendtner/Van Persie/Walcott

Scorecast options: Bendtner/Van Persie/Walcott score 1st & Arsenal win 2-0/3-0

Wigan vs Portsmouth – (Wednesday 7.45pm)

We have spent all season saying that Wigan are the most inconsistent & unpredictable side in the Premier League while Portsmouth are already relegated yet showed incredible character & belief to knock-out Tottenham in the Cup so anything really is possible in this match.
Wigan’s needs for the 3 points is obviously much greater than Portsmouth & the victory for West Ham United at the weekend has piled massive pressure on Wigan because they are now in 17th place & the sitting targets for Hull City & Burnley to aim at.

Roberto Martinez knows that this match is the best opportunity Wigan have to gain 3 more massively important points & this match is Wigan’s opportunity to virtually make sure they are safe as a win will take them 7 points clear of Burnley which is a massive gap with only 4 games to go.

Wigan do always play consistent, positive passing football but their major weakness is a failure to score enough goals with only 14 scored in their 16 home league games to date & that does make it hard for them to convert draws in to wins and this match could produce a similar scenario.

Portsmouth, through their own doing I must add, have been up against it all seeason, they are already relegated, facing financial meltdown off the pitch & yet incredibly Avram Grant & the Portsmouth players somehow found the inner self belief & desire to incredibly win through to another F.A. Cup Final so what can we expect from them in this match.

Obviously now, the only target the Portsmouth players have is to stay fit & achieve a place in the F.A. Cup final because the league matches no longer officially mean anything & many people will expect the Portsmouth players to take it easy in their remaining league games but we really don’t see it that way.

In terms of relative quality within the two squads, Portsmouth have nothing to fear from Wigan & that massive win over Tottenham should give the Portsmouth players a huge confidence boost & they will believe they can definitely get a positive result from this match.

Wigan’s home form has been inconsistent & nothing special with very few goals while Portsmouth’s away form has been terrible & again very few goals so this match is highly unlikely to be anything other than a dour, low quality battle that can go either way.

Wigan have to win & Portsmouth have no motivation to win so ordinarily that should mean Wigan have the edge & win the game but the Portsmouth story is a truly remarkable one & we feel there are enough doubts about both sides to suggest this will be tight & close and low scoring, even no scoring draw appeals as a value bet worth taking.

Betting Recommendations:

Outright Match Result: DRAW

Correct Score options: 0-0/1-1

First Goalscorer each way/Player to score anytime: Rodallega/Piquionne/Boateng

Double Result: DRAW H/T & F/T
